Awarded with others part of the compensation for the enslaved people on the Concordia estate on Tobago as executors of Eliz. Wightman of Edinburgh, the original claimant. Presumably a local lawyer or accountant: a John Mackintosh was practising as an accountant in Glasgow in the 1820s, but his last appearance in the Edinburgh Gazette was in 1831.
