The John Whyte who developed the Hippodrome Racecourse in Notting Hill between 1834 and 1837 has been associated in secondary literature with the John Whyte of the compensation records by Mollie Gillen in The Prince and his Lady (Halifax, Nova Scotia, 1970), p.269. This has not been verified by LBS.
