End of tenure at Stamford 1812 and start/end for Lincolnshire are approximate (years are correct).

Generally Tory and opposed to Parliamentary Reform and to Catholic Relief. However, he was, by 1826, a supporter of the abolition of slavery, albeit that he deplored '"ignorant meddling", which would ruin the planters'. (Fisher, p. 632)
