Thomas Daniel

Local Government (Tory)

Notes

Daniel was ‘prominently associated with local politics as the leader of the Tory party. . .Time was when the name of Alderman Daniel was almost idolised by his party, and he was amongst the mightiest of our city magnates’. However, ‘with increasing years and natural dissociation from active life, he had come to be regarded as ranged with the traditions of the past. . .’
