Best managed Fairey Valley for his father: Daniels were consignees and held mortgages of £14,500. Ibid. p. 86: this award and that for Moonshine Hall was used to reduce accumulated interest, the Daniels left the loan at interest, purchased a small estate [Harburton] in 1834.

T71/555: John Rycroft Best registered 219 enslaved persons on Fairy Valley estate, as the property of the estate of TB to which he is executor.
