Linnean Society of London Fellow

London - 1805 - ????

The Linnean Society of London is the world's oldest active organisation devoted exclusively to natural history in the broadest sense. It was founded in 1788 by Sir James Edward Smith (1759-1828) and named after the Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778) (whose scientific collections have belonged to the society since 1829).
