[Name] Ogborn's Vale or March's Vale
Subject: Debt: 25 October 1809 respondent [William Hammonds merchant of Bristol but resident in Kingston] filed a bill against the appellant [Foster March] and Mary Rymer Hoyes, John Hoyes and Samuel Murphy, claiming that the respondent [sic] and John Hoyes, merchant of Kingston, deceased, had been co-partners and in November 1808 had become indebted to the respondent; payment of the debts of Joseph Wilkins Ogborn, deceased, Reverend T Simcox and others; the respondent's demand was secured by a mortgage on the Ogborn's Vale otherwise March's Vale plantation [slavery], the recovery of which was sought by foreclosure and sale of the mortgaged premises; the applicant demurred for a delay.
