Capt. John Lindsey RN proprietor. 116 by purchase from Francis Willock Esq. Inferred to be Mount Pleasant by corroborating detail (the number of slaves not however an exact match) in the 1824 Slave Register. It appears John Lindsey bought the estate after 1817 but defaulted before 1824.

George Savage Martin, attorney to Francis Willock, administrator to the will of Alexander Willock deceased with the will annexed. This was one of two estates (the other was Blizard's, under which the enslaved people for 1824 are entered separately) in a single entry with sub-totals. A note on p. 464 says the previous registration had been of 115 [enslaved people] by John Lindsey the then proprietor of the plantation but since then recovered in a Court of Chancery for non-payment to the purchase money.
