Biography

One of the reputed children of John Fairbairn (died in 1820 or 1821). In his will written in 1820 and proved in 1821, John Fairbairn bequeathed ownership of one enslaved person, a man named Colin, to his "reputed coloured son Thomas". George Fairbairn registered ownership of Colin, age 25 years, as guardian of Thomas Fairbairn.
