Biography

Son of Alexander McSween, Attorney Grenada. After entering the East India Company training college at Haileybury in 1807, he arrived in India as an EIC Writer in 1810, serving in the Bengal Presidency. In the 1817 Slave Register he is identified as being in India in the entry for Grand Mal estate. He rose to the position of Judge in Muradabad, but died in post in 1848. In 1822 he married Margaret Macleod in Bengal. The couple had 7 children.
