Biography

Brother of Edward Bolton Clive MP, sons of George Clive and Sydney Bolton, counterclaimed for the compensation for Low Ground[s] on Nevis (the proceeds of which were paid into a suit in the colonial court) by virtue of his wife's position as legatee.

  1. Theophilus Clive widower of Cheltenham married Mary Ann Kelly of Dover 18/07/1818 at Dover; death of Theophilus Clive registered Bath Q2 1839. The son Theophilus Clive of Hampton Court was a director of the Railway Passengers Assurance Co., in 1858.

  2. The partnership of Theophilus Clive, John Wilkinson and Samuel Richardson 'Hambro merchants' was dissolved 31/12/1804 as far as John Wilkinson was concerned. Clive and Richardson were bankrupt in 1810.
