Given in the compensation records as Edward B. Taylor but identifiable as Edward Butler Taylor. Resident in Barbados at the time of compensation but subsequently in Britain, dying c. 1854 of Teignmouth.
Edward B. Taylor, age 60, born Barbados, was living with his daughter Elizabeth J. Bencraft, age 28, born Barbados and two female servants at Tuckers Garden, Fore Street, West Teignmouth, Devon.
The will of Edward Butler Taylor [at present residing in] Teignmouth Devon gentleman [made in August 1853] proved 12/12/1854. He left one-third of his property in England and Barbados to each of his three children, Samuel Edward Taylor, George Blackburn Taylor and Elizabeth Jane Bearcroft, the wife of Robert Bearcroft. The will identifies George Nelson Taylor as his brother.
