Biography

Lawyer, in London from the 1830s, a partner in Kingston Jamaica with Robert Davies and John Nicol (q.v.), awarded the compensation for five small awards in Jamaica.

  1. Born Jamaica c. 1785 or 1788, possibly son of William Hill and Sarah Farquhar who married 19/09/1769 in St Catherine. Moved to London as 'island law agent' or 'West India law agent'. Married Anna Maria Simpson 08/05/1834, and possibly married a second time in 1863. Died 16/06/1868 late of Grove Park Camberwell, effects under £1000.

  2. Listed among Attornies at Law in 1824 and 1839 Jamaica Almanac Civil Lists as Thomas F. Hill and Thos. F. Hill, in the latter case marked as 'off the Island'; similarly listed in 1851 with no delineation as 'off the Island' and apparently still with a current Annual Certificate.
