Biography

  1. Born 01/12/1790 in Jamaica, son of Solomon Isaacs, brother of Abraham, Jacob, Judith and Asher Isaacs (all q.v.). Isaac Isaacs registered his own enslaved people in St Elizabeth in 1832.

  2. Apparently married Henrietta Levison at Great Synagogue, Duke's Place, London, 18/11/1818. She was born 24/01/1798 in Kingston and died there 06/01/1873.

  3. George Moravia (born 1819), Adelaide Eliza (born 1821), Lionel Edmund (born 1822), Jessica (born 1824), Albert Augustus (born 1826) and Richard Brucher (born 1827), all the children of Isaac and Henrietta Isaacs, living on Berry Hill, were baptised into the Church of England, Manchester, Jamaica, in 1828. Three more children - Rosetta Smith (1828), Henrietta Roberta (1830) and Philip Beuclerk (1833) were baptised in St Elizabeth.

  4. Isaac (age 52) and Henrietta (age 43), both of Iver Cottage, were baptised into the Church of England in Jamaica in 1843.

  5. The will with a codicil of Isaac Isaacs late of Iver Cottage in St Elizabeth, Jamaica, Esquire, who died at Iver Cottage 21/11/1869 was proved in London by Lionel Edmund Isaacs of 7 Jeffrey's Square, London, merchant, the son, one of the executors. Effects under £1,500 in England.
