1777 - 1851
John Fewtrell Wylde of Uplands House, Chelmarsh, counterclaimed unsuccessfully for £1000 from the compensation for Peter's Hope in St Vincent. He was the son-in-law of Peter Gurley jun. and Mary Selby Gurley (q.v.), having married their daughter Ann who died in 1804.
T71/892 St Vincent no. 642, which appears to give the address as Chelmarsh Gloucestershire. John Fewtrell Wylde apparently pursued this claim to the Privy Council to appeal the award to Colin Campbell and Mungo Nutter Campbell, Privy Council Papers Online Case number: 1792_682 (1841); Caribbeana Vol. IV p.41 shows the memorial to Ann Wylde in Holy Trinity, Exeter.
