Resident slave-owner in Jamaica.
Administration of the will of Richard Boucher of Manchester Jamaica [made in 1830] granted 09/11/1833. He left £500 currency to his wife Barbara, and an annuity of £700 p.a. with a further conditional annuity of £150 p.a. He left £1000 sterling to Richard Boucher James son of Herbert Jarrett James, and £500 sterling each to his nieces Barbara Boucher Ashman and Sophia Scarlett Ashman. He ordered his trustees to raise three sums of £10,000 each, one for the benefit of his niece Arabella Ballard ('wife of Admiral Ballard'), one for his niece Anna Maria Crabb and the third for his niece Harriett Louisa Hollis ('wife of Admiral Hollis'). Subject to these charges, he left his estates and enslaved people to James George Crabb (q.v.).
