Slave-owner in Jamaica, apparently resident, a reference found by Daniel Livesay to a suit in Jamaica of McDermott v McDermott (July 15 1805) between the 'McDermott children of St Catherine' - who were children of colour - and their white uncle Peter McDermott. The Slave Register for 1823 show him dying '26th June last'.
Sarah Eleanor, the daughter of Peter McDermott and Sarah his wife, borm 15/03/1803 and baptised in Kingston 21/07/1804. Eliza age 7, Peter Powel age 5 and Bernard age 18 months, children of Peter McDermott and Sarah his wife, late Yates, widow, baptised in Kingston, 07/12/1818.
Baptised in Kingston 08/06/1809, Peter and Edward McDermott, children of Peter McDermott Esquire, Practitioner of Physic and Surgery and Proprietor of Hibernia Coffee Plantation in the Parish of St David.
