Apparently resident slave-owner and attorney, fl. 1786-1799, about whom nothing further has yet been found. He was clearly related to the family of John Ellis of Jamaica (q.v.) and the latter's son George Ellis of Jamaica (also whom q.v.) (the aunt of John Ellis of Jamaica was Frances Nedham), but Robert Nedham Ellis does not appear in Feurtado's 'Ellis of Jamaica' in his The Peerage &c in Jamaica. He was conceivably the Robert Ellis, son of William Beckford Ellis I and nephew of John Ellis senior, who was left £1000 at 21 in the latter's will proved in 1783, together with support and maintenance until that age.
