Biography

Son of Samuel Plummer and his wife Sarah nee Whittaker. Married to Green Barrett Plummer whose enslaved people he registered in 1817 when they were in fact his wife's property. Possibly the brother of Thomas Plummer MP of Plummer, Barham and Plummer, whose brother is described by the History of Parliament as an agent in Jamaica who included Lady Holland and William [Thomas] Beckord among his clients. Certainly there appears to have been a Plummer nexus around both Lady Holland and Beckford comprising Henry Waite Plummer, William's son, as attorney in Jamaica and Plummer, Barham and Plummer as agents - probably consignees - in London.
