Michael Lovell

Biography

London merchant, partner with his cousin Thomas Oliver of London, brother of Langford Lovell of Antigua (q.v.), and uncle of Langford Lovell (q.v.). Although signatory of the 1783 address to George III of planters in the West India islands residing in Great Britain and merchants trading to those islands, in his will proved in 1784 he made no reference to property in the Caribbean. In 1780 he had been shown under his own name, 'merchant' at 20 Mark Lane.
