1752 - 1824
John Lane (1752-1824), originally of Kings Bromley, married Sarah Amler (née Lloyd). For notes on the family background see biog notes on their son, John Newton Lane (q.v.). John Lane inherited Seawells and Newton in Barbados in 1794 with his brother Thomas Lane (1754-1824) (q.v.) In 1803 John took Seawells while Thomas took Newtons. However, one source suggests that the properties were not divided until 1820.
