Master mariner of London, who had married in Jamaica in 1801.

William Clark of the Triangle, Hackney, mortgagee of John Hayman on the Berkshire Hall estate in Jamaica which Hayman conveyed to him in 1830. William Clark retired master mariner of Woburn Place Hackney whose will [made in 1845] was proved 19/03/1849; one of whose minor legatees was 'my friend' Roger Kynaston of Great St Helen Place: Roger Kynaston had acted as trustee for William Clark the mortgagee of Berkshire Hall in the slave compensation award made in 1836.

William Martin Clark married Mary Bucknor Mowatt in Hanover, Jamaica, 20/06/1801.

Patrick Gray of Hanover, Jamaica, bequeathed £1,000 to 'Mrs Mary Bucknor Clark, late Mary Bucknor Mowatt, daughter of the late William Chaplin Mowatt and Elizabeth his wife and now the wife of William Clark of London master and commander of the ship 'Mary & Susannah'. He also bequeathed £50 per annum to Mary and William's eldest daughter Sarah Clark until she reached the age of 21 years, when she would receive a lump sum of £250. Mary Bucknor Clark also inherited Gray's house and premises in Montego Bay after the death of Patrick Gray's wife Sarah.

William Clark and his wife Mary Bucknor Clark had three daughters: Sarah (born c. 1803 in Jamaica); Mary (born 1813 in Stepney); and Catherine (born 1819 in Hackney). William Clark was of Moore Street, Hackney, at the baptism of his youngest daughter in 1819, a ship master, and of the Triangle, Hackney, at the marriage of his eldest daughter in 1827.The three daughters were beneficiaries under the will of Sarah Gray (q.v.).

Living at Wells Street, Woburn Place, Hackney, in the census of 1841, age 70, of independent means, born Scotland, with Mary Clarke age 60, Mary Clark age 25 and Catherine Clark age 20, and three female servants.
