Owner of land in Grenada in 1780 and probably in Dominica earlier. Will written in London in 1792 and proved in 1794 leaving several legacies and the rest to his brother Samuel Proudfoot. He had been tenant-for-life under the will of his brother and co-owner in Grenada, Thomas Proudfoot, whose will was proved 06/11/1776.

PROB 11/1252/84 - precis. Edmund Proudfoot of Wimpole Street, London, shortly to proceed on a voyage to Grenada in the West Indies. All property in Grenada and Jamaica to my brother Samuel Proudfoot dependent on several legacies. To Maria Elizabeth Ahmuty of Wanstead, widow, £7,000 sterling to be paid within 7 years of my decease with interest at 5 per cent in the meantime. To John Townley Ahmuty son of Maria Elizabeth, £500 at age 21. The same in trust to her daughters Letitia Maria and Catharine Constantia at age 21. To Gerard Montague Esquire (son of Edward Montague Esquire one of the Masters of the Court of Chancery) £5,000 to be paid within 7 years of my decease. To Mrs Sarah Abbiss (now residing at the house of my brother Samuel Proudfoot £1,000.
