Member of Assembly for Hanover in 1749. Resident slave-owner in Jamaica, dying c. 1751.

Richard Quarrell of Hanover, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1752. Slave-ownership at probate: 457 of whom 270 were listed as male and 187 as female. 85 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £30820.2 Jamaican currency of which £22899 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £0 currency cash, £1547.27 currency debts and £0 currency plate.

Richard Quarrel, deceased was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 900 acres of land in St James and 400 acres of land in St Elizabeth, total 1300 acres.
