Biography

Sir John Hill, the husband of Lucy Hill nee Swinburne, claimed apparently unsuccessfully for the compensation for Spot Valley in St James Jamaica in right of his wife, who had an annuity of £200 p.a. secured on Spit Valley, with arrears of £1000. She was the widow of Joseph Barrett (q.v., under Joseph Francis Sill Barrett), and had remarried in 1804.
