Biography
- Will of Elizabeth Witter formerly Blagrove of London [but late of Jamaica] [made in 1763] proved 20/05/1776. She left to her son John Blagrove 'all the negroes and their issues to which [sic] I have a lawful right and title', together with her arrears of dower from the estate of her husband Thomas Blagrove. 'As for my present husband William Witter the ample fortune he has already received and the indifferent treatment I have received from him since my marriage will sufficiently excuse me from leaving him any more than to buy a mourning ring.' She identified her brother as John Campbell and her sister as Grace Campbell [in fact, sister-in-law], and her uncle also as John Campbell.
