Zachary Macaulay

Biography

The celebrated abolitionist, active as a book-keeper or manager in Jamaica in the 1780s. His ODNB entry shows him as returning to Britain in 1789, although the Accounts Produce for the Hyde estate in St Thomas-in-the-Vale were filed under his name in 1790 and 1791.
