Biography

Former Jamaica merchants, active in London for 1806 on behalf of William Griffiths and Stewart Bruce, prize agents in Jamaica, and bankrupt in 1817.

  1. Will of Stephen Minot, merchant [formerly] of Jamaica [at present of the City of London] [made in 1816] proved 14/04/1826. He left the lease of his house at 52 Francis Street, Gower Street to his wife. He left his property to his son given as William Griffiths and his reputed natural daughter Mary Minot 'now residing in my house.' The will identified his brother as William Minot and William's son John Minot the elder as his [the testator's] nephew.

  2. Burial of Stephen Minot of Frances Street Pancras at St James Piccadilly 07/03/1826.
