Christian Honeyman (née Findlay)

Biography

Baptised in Edinburgh in 1793, the daughter of David Findlay, a wigmaker, and his wife Margaret nee Kelly. One of the residuary legatees of her mother's half-brother, John Kelly of St Catherine. After payment of legacies to John Kelly's reputed children, he bequeathed Tamarind Grove and Hill House estates to Christian and and her siblings. Married Robert Honeyman in Falkirk in 1819 (banns also read in Edinburgh). Children Margaret Kelly (baptised 1820 Falkirk), William (1823 Errol, Perthshire), Joanna Andrew (1828 North Leith), Mary Findlay (1830 St Cuthbert's. Cause of death "Child Bed" 30/10/1834 and buried in St Cuthbert's, Edinburgh, 03/11/1834. The baptism of her eldest son gives her husband's occupation as merchant in Errol and that of her youngest daughter gives him as "General Agent" at Parkside Street, Edinburgh.
