Biography

Slave-owner in Kingston, Jamaica. Deceased by 1817. Her sons John, James and Thomas, and probably at least one other child, inherited her enslaved people.

Described as "a mulatto woman" at the baptism of her children Jane (born 1793) and John (born 1795) Smellie, and as "a quadroon" at the baptism of her son Philip Smellie (born 1804). No baptisms have been found for James or Thomas. The children's father was John Smellie.
