Biography

London merchant, financier and MP, who appeared with John Marlar 'banker' in the description of a 1777 bond from Sir James Cockburn (q.v.) to the Duchess of Bridgewater for £1000, 'part of £40,000 mortgage to Peregrine Cust...and John Marlar, of Plantation and Negross [sic] in Dominica.'
