Biography

Daughter of George Dehany II (1760-1806) and Sarah Byndloss (née Jones) (1761-1833), sister of William Knight Dehany (q.v.), sister-in-law of George Henry Cussans Scott (q.v.), and awarded half the compensation for the Flamstead estate in Port Royal Jamaica.

  1. By 1842, she was living at Ifield, Sussex where the advowson of the vicarage had passed to her (given as Eliza Whitehorn Dehany) by that date. By 1850 it was held by her brother-in-law George Henry Cussans Scott, the husband of Mary Favell Dehany. Previously and subsequently, it was in the hands of the Lewin family.

  2. Advertisement for creditors of Eliza Whitehorne Dehany, formerly of Ifield Sussex, afterwards of Salt-hill Bucks., then of Woolwich Kent, and late of Hilton House, Hilton Huntingdonshire, who died 30/09/1866.

  3. Death of Eliza W Dehany aged 70 registered St Ives, Huntingdonshire Q4 1866. Will of Eliza Whitehorne Dehany formerly of Salt-hill Buckinghamshire but late of Hilton House Huntingdonshire who died 30/09/1866 at Hilton House proved 22/11/1866 by John Wakeman Long and Henry Lewin, both solicitors, effects under £4000.
