Biography

Slave-owner on Barbados, dying in 1836 of Sherborne House near Gloucester. Given also as Nathaniel Forte.

  1. Christened 29 August 1767 in Saint Philip, Barbados. Died in 1836 in Gloucestershire. Nathaniel Forte married Jane Adamson in 21 November 1801.

  2. Resident, speaker of House of Assembly 1829-35, and Assistant Commissioner of Compensation in Barbados.

  3. Nathaniel Forte, presumably a son, aged 44 West India proprietor, born Barbados, was living in 1861 at 14, The Paragon, Clifton, Bristol, with his wife Margaret born Guernsey, two children and two step-children all born Barbados and two visitors born Barbados. He left £680 in 1901.
