Biography

Son of Samuel Greatheed senior (1752-1829) and great-nephew of Samuel Greatheed (1710-65) the MP, and brother of John Greatheed (q.v.), with whom he was awarded the compensation for Arnos Vale on St Vincent as executors and trustees of their father, who had left £24,000 to his younger children secured on the estate; the estate itself had been left to Samuel.  

  1. Will of Samuel Greatheed of Landford Lodge, Wiltshire (the father) proved 17/08/1829; will of Samuel Greatheed of Landford Lodge Wiltshire (the son) proved 17/05/1847. The latter left his estate (including Arnos Vale and his freehold at Landford) to be sold and the proceeds put in trust for wife and his four children.

  2. Francis Place's daughter Annie was a governess to the daughter of Samuel Greatheed of Landford Lodge c. 1817. This must have been one of the daughters of this Samuel Greatheed d. 1847.
