Biography

Resident planter, son of John (1769-1801) and Rebecca Ellis (1769-1842). Married Sarah Grannum, 20 August 1818, St. Thomas, Barbados.
Note that all the children were born in Barbados and at least the two eldest died there as well.

Ellis's daughter, Amelia Rebecca (1819- ) married Charles Packer, son of John Cutting Packer (q.v.), in St James in 1841.

In a Levy Book list for St James, Barbados, 1822, Ellis was listed as owning 79 enslaved and 42 acres of land. The name of the estate (or estates) was not given.
