Biography

Awarded the compensation for enslaved persons on Durants in Barbados, and probably the same man as the counterclaimant on plantation Henrietta in British Guiana as representative of Philip Lovell.

  1. Son of John Randal Phillips (q.v.) and Elizabeth Went Lovell. Marriage of Philip Lovell Phillips (q.v.) to Mary Anne Hawkes Collyer at St Giles Camberwell 09/08/1832, witnessed by Randal Phillips and J.R. Phillips junior.

  2. Only son of John Randal [Philips [sic]] of the Isle of Barbados, matriculated Exeter College Oxford 18/02/1823 aged 17, BA 1826, MA 1829, B.Med 1830, D. Med 1833. Author of Organic Chemistry, a lecture, (London 1856), and of An Essay on Tropical Agriculture (1845).

  3. Philip Lovell Phillips esq. MD, Torville [Devon], Teignmouth Road. Will of Philip Lovell Phillips MD of Torville, parish of Tormoham, Devon who died 02/07/1869 proved 28/07/1869, effects under £40,000.
