Biography

Awarded compensation as co-trustee of the estate of Peter Mathew Mills deceased for the Bottom and Carpoons estate on St Kitts.  

  1. John Robert Budgen of Richmond House Twickenham, Ballindoney co. Wexford and Beaulieu Island of Jersey was the son of Thomas Budgen (of Holmesdale House Surrey and Beaulieu Island of Jersey) and grandson of John Smith Budgen MP [sic: there is no record of him as an MP in the History of Parliament] and Lucretia Mills, daughter of Matthew Mills, and Captain in the Rifle Brigade ('served in every engagement from Corunna to Waterloo and was twice wounded'), JP and DL for Surrey and JP for Wexford. Born 01/12/1791, married 13/01/1823 Williamza Caroline Moore, 3rd daughter of Col. Lorenzo Moore, and died 04/12/1866. Their children Thomas John and Maria Cornelia were baptised at Nutfield Surrey in 1824 and 1829 respectivley.

  2. Budgen, Thomas John of Ballydoney Co. Wexford, only son of Captain John Robert Budgen Rif. Brig., of Ballydoney who died 1866, by Williamya [sic], daughter of Col. Lorenzo Moore; Ballydoney house Co. Wexford;  Richmond House, Twickenham.

  3. Letters of Administration of the personal estate of John Robert Budgen late of Gonray of the Island of Jersey who died 04/12/1866 at Gonray granted to Thomas John Budgen of Ballindoney, effects under £800.

Will of Peter Matthew [sic] Mills of Twickenham Middlesex proved 17/07/1792 PROB 11/1221 is presumably the Peter Matthew Mills born 1743 who was at Westminster, matriculated Christ's Cambridge 1760 and married Catherine Hamilton, Ancestry.com, Cambridge University Alumni 1261-1900 [database online]. Peter Mathew Mills was the son of Mathew Mills and in turn had three sons, Geo., Peter Mathew and Charles, Vere Langford Oliver, Caribbeana being miscellaneous papers relating to the history, genealogy, topography, and antiquities of the British West Indies (6 vols., London, Mitchell, Hughes and Clarke, 1910-1919), Vol. I pp. 6-7.
