Slave-owner in Jamaica, co-owned Rodney Hall with John Paton Passley and Richard Brown Passley. Alive in 1829 but deceased by 1832. His main heir was his son Henry Passley.
In 1861 Henry Passley born Jamaica WI aged 39 [i.e. born c. 1822] 'Clerk (Sewing Machine)' [sic] was living as a lodger at 3 Stonbridge Vilas Hackney. Presumably this was the son Henry.
Henry James Passley and his wife Rebecca Sutton had at least three children: Eliza Ann (baptised 1810 in Portland); Frances Ann (baptised 1820 in St Pancras, London); and Francis Albertine (baptised 1826 in Portland). He appears to have been mostly resident in Jamaica although in 1820 his address was given as Judd Street, London.
T71/868 Portland no. 35.
