Born 29/02/1804 and baptised 26/03/1804 in St Michael, Barbados, daughter of John Spooner junior and Anna Maria his wife. She inherited 10 enslaved people from Hannah Hall Ince at some point between 1823 and 1826; the attorney making the register on her behalf recorded that all 10 had been manumitted by 22/05/1829. In the register of 1832, her attorney recorded that she had inherited 3 more enslaved people, from Hannah Ince.
In 1841 Ince Spooner age 35 and Hannah Spooner, age 30, both born out of county and of independent means, were in the household of William Holderness, a clerk on Sloane Street in London. Mary Thomas Ince Spooner married Dr Joseph Jones at St Pancras, 11/06/1845. She was living with Joseph at 20 Gloucester Road, Regents Park and with him at Tower House, Gloucester Road, in 1861. She was widowed, living at 91 St George's Road, Westminster, in 1871. Mary Thomas Ince Jones of Lower Camden, Chiselhurst, Kent, was buried 06/10/1880 in Brompton Cemetery, aged 76 years. The National Probate Calendar gives her of 93 St George's Road, Pimlico, and her death as 01/10/1880; effects under £20,000.
Her husband, Joseph Jones (20 May 1809-28 November 1864) was the oldest son of John Jones, M.D., of Barbados. Educated at Charterhouse and Caius College, Cambridge. He lived in London and said to have no profession. He died in Nauhim, Germany 28 November 1864.
