Free man of colour in Jamaica. See entry for his wife Ann Maitland nee Wright. Francis Maitland made his will apparently in Jamaica 29/11/1823 and left everything to his wife Ann, who proved the will in London 04/01/1825. The baptism of their youngest child Octavius in St Mark's, Kennington, in December 1825 gives her abode as Lambeth, Surrey.
