Amie Anne Lynch (née East)

Biography

Sister of Edward Hyde East (q.v.). Married Patrick Lynch of Jamaica, May 1789. Died 24/01/1842. Lynch had been a partner or co-owner with Peter and James Digges La Touche and died September 1817. A slave-owner in her own right (her husband Patrick Lynch appears for Bellfield in 1817 as owner of a group of enslaved people 'in right of wife.')

The will of Amie Anne Lynch of Melcombe Place, Dorset Square, widow, was written 25/07/1841 and proved 22/02/1842. In it she makes no mention of specific property beyond trinkets, drawings and money in the 3 1/2 per cents. Nor is there mention of the Miss Celia Lynch who succeeded to Bellfield under the will of Amie Ann Lynch's husband Patrick.
