Emmeline Corne Mais (née Bennett)

Biography

Born 03/02/1803 in Bristol, daughter of William Bennett and Elizabeth Corne Bennett nee Pownall. Inherited a share in Silver Hill estate in St Andrew, Jamaica, in trust on the death of her uncle James Corne Pownall in 1824. Married Jeremiah Mais in Westbury-on-Trym in 1831. They had three children: Emmeline Elizabeth (1832-), Charles Jeremiah (1838-) and Frederick William (1841-), all born in Westbury on Trym. At Westbury Hill in the census of 1841 with her husband and children as well as her sister Sarah Bennett and two female servants. At 7 Grove Place in the same town in 1851, with her mother, sister and children and one female servant. No death has been found for Emmeline Corne Mais.
