???? - 1844
Awarded part of the compensation for the enslaved people on Java in Manchester, after contesting the compensation with her husband Francis Glasse (q.v.), who was awarded the remainder.
The Java estate had belonged to William Stimpson, Eliza Glasse's brother. He bequeathed her an annuity secured on the estate of £100 p.a., which was the basis of her husband's claim. The estate itself passed to Francis Philip Glasse, the son of Francis and Eliza Glasse, who died at the time of compensation: he in turn left it to his mother. Will of Francis Philip otherwise Francis Phillip Glasse of Island of Jamaica West Indies proved 31/01/1837.
Marriage of Francis Glasse Esq., and Eliza Stimpson at St Marylebone 20/10/1806. The couple appear to have divorced before the 1841 census, when Francis Glasse was living with an Annette Glasse. Death of Eliza Glasse registered at St George Hanover Square Q4 1844.
Eliza Jane Glasse of St George's Hanover Square, the daughter of Francis Glasse (and Eliza Glasse, who witnessed the wedding), married Francis Ord Marshall in St John the Evangelist Westminster 29/11/1831.
