The transmission of the Pontefract estate passed through Henrietta Gray formerly Phillips previously Jepson. She was the administratrix of her husband Thomas Phillips (d. c. 1822) and wife of Adam Gray. She was given as Henrietta Jepson when she married Thomas Phillips in St George Jamaica 11/08/1810, and as Henrietta Phillips widow when she married Adam Gray Esq. in St George 13/10/1823. The Pontefract estate had belonged to Dr Jephson [sic] as 'previous owner' 1809-11; she was either his widow or his daughter.
