Biography

London West India merchant and slave-owner.

  1. Son of Mr J. Trayton Fuller of Ashdown House, Sussex by his second wife Anne, the daughter of Gen Augustus Elliott, the first Lord Heathfield. MP for East Sussex 1841-1857.  Married Clara, daughter of Owen Putland Meyrick of Bodorgan, Anglesey Sept 5 1801.

  2. Partially succeeded to estates of John 'Mad Jack' Fuller (1757-1834), the nephew of Rose Fuller (1708-1777), leaving £160,000. Another nephew of Rose Fuller (1708-1777) was Rose Fuller (1748-1821), leaving £120,000, a partner in Rose and Augustus Fuller, 4 Church Court Clements Lane. This second Rose Fuller was Augustus Elliott Fuller's uncle: the firm is subsequently shown as Augustus E. Fuller at the same address.  

  3. The other co-heir of John Fuller was Sir Peregrine Palmer Fuller Palmer Acland, whose father Sir John Palmer Acland 1st bart. (1756-1831) had married Elizabeth Fuller, the sister of John Fuller.  Augustus Elliott Fuller's father John Trayton Fuller (1743-1811) was the son of Thomas Fuller and grandson of John Fuller and Elizabeth Rose, and nephew of Rose Fuller MP.
