Son and main heir of John Lane of Barbados and York Place Clifton (q.v.). First husband of Jane Abel Griffith and son-in-law of Thomas Howard Griffith (q.v.). No will or probate has been found for him. In the will of his mother Mary Elvira Lane (nee Brandford) made 11/09/1832, she instructed the payment of Mr King of Worthing Sussex, the undertaker who had conducted the funeral of her son John Brandford Lane, implying he had recently died in Britain, but his death at Worthing was shown in 1829.
