???? - 1854
Slave-owner in Barbados. Given in the slave compensation records simply as George Hewitt, he was the owner of Bloomsbury in St Thomas in Barbados and briefly of Mullineux in St James Barbados (in which latter context he was specified as of St Thomas), while 'George Hewitt' appears also as an attorney, executor and manager for numerous other estates in Barbados, including as executor of John William Perch and Jacob Hinds and as attorney of Ann Trotman. This entry consolidates all the connections to estates and claims for 'George Hewitt' in Barbados. It is possible that one or more of the roles as attorney, executor and manager refer to a different man.
